Additional Materials#
This section details the materials needed to build and fly your Duckiedrone that are not included with the kit.
Essential tools and accessories#
Building and maintaining the Duckiedrone requires soldering. Here is a list of soldering-related items.

Soldering iron: capable of reaching a temperature between 450 and 480 degrees Celsius
Solder: use only lead-free solder
Brass wool or a sponge to clean the soldering iron

Safety goggles: wear them while soldering
Fume extractor: use a dedicated fume extractor while soldering in a well-ventilated area
Helping hands: can simplify soldering tasks
Nice to have tools and accessories#
A chisel or bevel soldering iron tip: can simplify soldering to pads
Desoldering tool: a solder sucker or desoldering wick for correcting mistakes
Soldering mat: keeps the work surface clean and protected
Tweezers or pliers
Wire strippers
Miscellaneous Tools#
Multimeter: to verify the build by checking for shorts and measuring voltage where needed
Joypad: not required, but useful for manually controlling the Duckiedrone
A long (
~1 m) USB-A-to-USB-C data cable or USB-A extension cable: simplifies connecting the flight controller to the base station during initial configuration
